One Piece Chapter 907 CP0 Rob Lucci Shanks Gorosei
Chapter 907: The Empty Throne.

The chapter begins with Big Mom calling Kaidou about something which he adamantly refuses. Big Mom makes it sound like it's an offer he can't refuse because he "owes her one."

Whatever he owes her is something pretty huge because when Mom brings it up he tries to play it off. "That was a long time ago!"

But Mom says "Nope, it's a lifetime favor."

Kaidou: "I'm the one who has a beef with that Strawhat Kid, Linlin...you come here, and I'll kill you."

Mom: This isn't a discussion. I'm taking his head, and that's it. Rather what I want is that we team up....like the old days.

The Marines get the information that Big Mom made a move and are of course running panicked.

Especially when it's confirmed she's in touch with Kaidou. They've bugged the conversation and hear the possible collaboration going down.

Kizaru wants to head out there, but Akainu says there's an "unheard of military force" in Wano....and Kizaru says "Oh you mean the Samurai"?

Meanwhile Garp is being chewed out by Momousagi because he's not taking the threat of two of the Yonkou going after his grandson seriously.

Wano is a country not participating in the Reverie so they're out of the Marine's jurisdiction.

Sidenote: Interesting that Hina refers to Garp as "Garp-kun".

Anyway she points out as the hero of the marines he should be concerned about this and Garp does say that before Roger's time it was their era, but the past is the past.

Hina's still worried about what this means, and Garp says with a smile. "Yeah it'd be really bad if they revive (their union) --it'd be an incident far beyond our imagination."

Back on Mariejoa, Stelly is asked to "pledge" before the empty throne.

He wants to sit in it, but the guards tell him he's not allowed to. Every king of every nation is supposed to be equal and he's being asked to pledge he won't try to monopolize or become filled with greed.

The throne is protected by 20 weapons to represent the 20 people that formed to create the nations as they stood before this throne and pledged themselves.

No one sitting in it is a sign of peace. It's like a sign of the utmost pride for the Celestial Dragons and the Gorosei as a figurehead that there isn't just one "king".

They're explaining this but Stelly only hears how whomever sits there is the King of the world, and so he really wants that seat.

Meanwhile Charloss is trying to take Shirahoshi by force. He's determined to make her his pet. Vivi and Rebecca try to step in but they know challenging a Celestial Dragon could get their countries destroyed.

Leo goes to save, but Lucci and the CP0 stop him --It's Kaku, Stussy and another in a mask.

Lucci says Celestial Dragons are gods who created this land and they are simply kings of the earth as opposed to heaven. Vivi says that this is illogical, but Lucci replies that Gods needn't heed logic.

Neptune thanks Vivi for standing up for Shirahoshi, but talks are over now, and he's going to take her back by force then return to the sea.

He laments that he couldn't keep the promise to Otohime, and Charloss commands Lucci to kill him for daring to oppose him.

Luckily another person stops Charloss by hitting him with a club to the face, and it's another Celestial Dragon who apologies for Charloss's actions and calls Lucci off.

He says that he knows Neptune even though he probably has forgotten him --and has been waiting to return this favor to Ryuguu.

He drifted ashore to their kingdom 10 years ago and was admonished by Otohime's tears, so now he wants to help them.

His name is Donquixote Mjosgard

Meanwhile the Gorosei welcome in someone and make the guards leave so they have privacy, commenting that they only allowed this person time because of who they are.

The person thanks them and says he'd like to speak about a certain Pirate...

It's Shanks.

Ray (レイ, Rei) is one of the main protagonists of The Promised Neverland. Unlike all the other children, he is not an orphan.

AppearanceEdit

Ray has dark, somewhat messy hair that slightly cover's his left eye, he wears the standard white uniform. He has dark eyes and a slender appearance wearing usually a tired like look.

PersonalityEdit

Ray is very logical and smart and is usually shown to read books by himself. He does not seem to be very attached to other children in the orphanage as he is seen to be willing to leave them behind to increase the chances of the trio to escape. According to data obtained by Sister Krone, his weakness is that he gives up easily.

Ray is extremely patient and cunning. He can remember everything since he's been born, so he's known about the demons and had been playing double agent with mama since age 6. Although Ray is extremely book smart he says that he never liked studying. The reason he did was to become top of the line food and devise a plan to escape with Norman and Emma.

Ray is shown to have been in the orphanage since a young age together with Norman and Emma. He learns about the demons from Emma and Norman and believes them immediately, because as he puts it "Norman would not tell such a stupid lie". The trio works together to find a way to escape from the orphanage. At the end of Chapter 12, it is revealed that Norman suspects him to be a spy for mama.

In Chapters 13 and 14, it is revealed that Ray is indeed Mama's spy, but is, in fact, working as a double-agent and became her spy as part of his plan to one day escape with the others, thus making him a double-agent who has been plotting against Mama all along.

Hunter X Hunter Hisoka Cards Anime 2011 Manga HD

Hisoka (ヒソカ), nicknamed the Magician, is an important character in Hunter × Hunter. He is a former member #4 of the infamous Phantom Troupe and applicant #44 in the 287th Hunter Exam.

Contents

[show]

AppearanceEdit

Hisoka has the appearance of a court jester. He wears face paint, with a star shape on his right cheek and a teardrop shape on his left cheek Or vise versa. His short hair is usually combed back and held up by gel or wax. He changes his outfit in every story arc, although it typically consists of a sleeveless or short-sleeved jacket, long pants, leg wraps and a belly band, and is decorated with suit symbols. During the election for the 13th Hunter chairman, he often wears a pair of heart-shaped drop earrings. Throughout the 287th Hunter Exam in the 1999 anime series, Hisoka had light teal hair but later it was changed to red. In the 2011 series, he has red hair and yellow eyes from the beginning.

PersonalityEdit

Hisoka is a whimsical liar. It is very difficult to tell if his words and actions are deceptive or not. Sometimes he can have shocking actions during battles but they in fact are careful and devilish calculations to fool his opponents. He is entirely self-interested and loves destroying what he has meticulously built up, such as card towers. It is also strongly implied that he receives sexual satisfaction from doing so. Hisoka is also a cruel, evil, extremely deceitful, opportunistic, dangerous, sadistic, murderous, calm, sarcastic, cold-hearted, uncaring, smart, level-headed, calculating, cunning, sneaky, selfish, intimidating and thoughtful

What he lusts for the most is the thrill of killing powerful fighters in combat. Thus, he never seriously fights those who are still developing, and has allowed the protagonists of Hunter × Hunter to get away from situations wherein he could easily take their lives so that he will be able to enjoy killing them when they have reached their full potential.

Hisoka prefers to live and work alone, except when his interests are put on the line, in which case he often cooperates with other people, such as Illumi Zoldyck and Kurapika, to protect them. He seems to be friends with Illumi, but their relationship is based on convenience and neither of them will hesitate to kill the other if need be.

BackgroundEdit

Almost nothing is known about Hisoka's past, except that 2 years prior to the beginning of the story, he joined the Phantom Troupe to replace the previous member #4,[2] who he had defeated; that in the 286th Hunter Exam he was disqualified for nearly killing an examiner named Togari; and that he named both of his techniques, the Bungee Gum and the Texture Surprise, after a candy brand and a chewing gum brand he liked when he was a kid.[3]

There is also a one-shot chapter written by Sui Ishida about Hisoka which Togashi approved of, so it could be said that the chapter is canon.

In the 1999 anime adaptation, it was stated during his match against Gon on Floor 200 of the Heavens Arena that Hisoka's family was poor,[4] but this piece of information has never appeared in the manga.

PlotEdit

287th Hunter Exam arcEdit

Hisoka's massacre

Hisoka, applicant #44, is seen as a serious contender in the 287th Hunter Exam. It is explained that he failed the previous year's exam only due to almost killing an examiner he did not like. Just before the start of Phase One, true to his notoriety he cuts off the arms of an applicant for not apologizing after bumping into him. In the second part of this phase--a marathon through the Numere Wetlands--, to reduce his appetite for murder, he plays the judge and kills a number of applicants using a mere card, in the process taking an interest in Gon and his friends after the boy hits him in the forehead with his fishing rod to stop him from killing Leorio. As a result he spares their lives and even carries an unconscious Leorio to the site of Phase Two in the Visca Forest Reserve himself.

Togari's severed head

Hisoka passes the 1st test of Phase Two, which is about cooking a whole roast wild pig for the examiner Buhara, with ease, but like the other remaining applicants, he nearly fails the 2nd test because Menchi, a finicky chef and examiner, at first tells them to make nigiri sushi. After it is changed to boiling a Spider-Eagle's egg under Chairman Netero's order, he succeeds without any problem. During Phase Three in the Trick Tower, Hisoka is targeted by Togari, the former examiner he almost killed a year before. Using a new curved saber technique called All Direction Four Blade Style, Togari cuts him in two places--shoulder and waist. But he quickly neutralizes it by catching 2 blades. He goes on to decapitate a shocked Togari, then becomes the first applicant to reach the bottom of the tower within the allowed time limit of 72 hours.[5]

Hisoka dodging Gozu's attacks

In Phase Four, the 24 remaining examinees are shipped to Zevil Island to take part in a week-long hunt for each other's badges. Hisoka becomes Gon's target through drawing lots. After disembarking, he rests for the good part of the first 2 days. Having no interest in finding his designated target, he intends to kill 3 random applicants.[6] The wounds caused by Togari on his body attract a species of butterflies which feeds on blood, leading Gon to him. Gozu, a fatally injured martial artist, then comes at Hisoka and begs for a death in battle but he refuses to kill him, saying he is uninterested in the dead. An examinee known as Gittarackur then appears and kills Gozu. This man turns out to be Hisoka's acquaintance and he gives him the badge #80 belonging to Siper.[7]

Hisoka punching Gon

In the 2nd day's evening, Hisoka starts his hunt and comes across Kurapika and Leorio. He allows them to leave unharmed in exchange for the badge #118. However their potential and quick development greatly whet his bloodlust. In the morning of the 3rd day, he runs into applicant #281 Agon and kills him by slitting his throat. While charging at Agon, much to his surprise, Hisoka has his badge snatched by Gon, who has been tailing him. Excited by this feat, Gon becomes careless and is soon ambushed and temporarily paralyzed by applicant #384 Geretta, who happens to be Hisoka's designated target. Geretta spares Gon's life but takes his and Hisoka's badges. Hisoka however appears, beheads Geretta, and gives Gon back his badge along with his own badge. Gon refuses to accept the favor, but he knocks him away with a hook to the face and leaves after challenging him to do the same.[8] With the 4 badges #80, #118, #281, and #384, he passes Phase Four.

Hisoka whispering to Kurapika then conceding

The last phase of the exam is a reverse elimination tournament in which the winner of a match is removed from the competition and becomes a licensed Hunter, and the loser is given more chance. Hisoka's first match is against Kurapika. After fighting for a while, he whispers something to Kurapika then retires.[9] His next opponent is Bodoro, who he overpowers with ease. However Bodoro refuses to surrender until Hisoka knocks him down and whispers something to him. Right after this, Bodoro admits defeat and Hisoka receives his own Hunter License. When the exam is over, he has a short conversation with Illumi--Gittarackur's true identity--about Gon and the Zoldyck Family. He warns Illumi not to touch Gon because the boy is his target.[10]

Heavens Arena arcEdit

Kastro ripping off Hisoka's right arm

Heavens Arena

Hisoka then follows Gon and Killua to the . It turns out he is a famous, undefeated fighter who has usually killed his opponents here.[11] On March 10th, he prevents the duo from registering on Floor 200 by putting up an aura barrier[12] to make sure they will not be permanently injured by Nen users on this floor. After they learn Ten from Wing and break through his barrier, he stops blocking them and tells Gon if he can win one match on this floor, he will fight him.[13] Near the middle of April, a popular fighter in the Heavens Arena named Kastro challenges Hisoka to avenge his only defeat 2 years before.[14] At the begining of the match Kastro seems to have the upper hand, being able to land some blows on Hisoka from unimaginable positions and angles. As the fight goes on Hisoka's right arm is even ripped off by Kastro's Tiger Bite Fist technique,[15]but he discovers Kastro's secret--a conjured double.[16]

Hisoka performing a brutal card trick

Despite losing 1 arm, Hisoka still appears very confident. He calmly performs a brutal card trick in front of Kastro, and after finishing it, he lets Kastro easily cut off his left arm. Then Hisoka suddenly shows everyone a seemingly undamaged right arm, which greatly confuses Kastro. He goes on to reveal that he knows where Kastro really is because the double never shows any damage. As he finishes, he sends his severed left arm flying at Kastro, hitting him hard in the face.[17] The double immediately disappears. Hisoka then tells Kastro that an Enhancer like him has insufficient memory to use such a complex Conjuration technique as creating a double in an emergency. At the same time, making use of his Bungee Gump's elasticity he fires the 13 cards he threw on the floor when performing the card trick at Kastro, piercing his body at various places and killing him.[18]

After the fight, Hisoka meets and pays Machi, a

Gon pummeling Hisoka

Phantom Troupe member, to reattach his arms using her Nen threads. It turns out he is one of them. She tells him that every member of the Troupe must be in Yorknew City by noon August 30th 2000.[19] After Machi left it is revealed that the spider tattoo on Hisoka's back is a fake he created with the Texture Surprise. Later, following Gon 's first victory on Floor 200, Hisoka agrees to fight him on July 10th.[20] During the fight, Gon successfully hits him in the face so he accepts to take his Hunter exam badge back.[21] As they continue, Hisoka has to repress his urge to kill Gon, but he still defeats him with ease by TKO. He then leaves after telling the boy that he will not fight him in the arena again and that the next time they fight, they will be risking their lives.[22]

Yorknew City arcEdit

On August 30th, Hisoka meets the other members of the Phantom Troupe in an abandoned building in Yorknew City, where their leader Chrollo Lucilfer gives them the order to steal all the auction items of the Mafia's underground auction. On the night of September 2nd, he sends Kurapika a message, telling him to meet as planned at the agreed place. When they meet, Hisoka tells Kurapika what he knows about the Phantom Troupe, that he joined the Troupe only to fight Chrollo, and that they should team up because they share a common interest. Kurapika tells him to meet again on September 3rd, at the same time.

The next day, he has an unexpected meeting with Gon and Killua after the two were captured and brought to the Troupe's hideout but they pretend not to know each other. Despite his liking for Gon, he cannot do anything to save them and even threatens to slit Killua's throat with a card if the boy makes any move without permission. In the night of September 3rd, Hisoka participates in a retaliatory attack of the Troupe on the Mafia to avenge Uvogin's death, however he does not do any fighting and only stands on top of a building watching and enjoying the scene. After they have returned to their hideout, he wants to tell Kurapika that the corpses of several Phantom Troupe members left behind are fake, but cannot contact him.

On September 4th, Chrollo uses the Lovely Ghostwriter ability he stole from Neon Nostrade on other members. According to the predictions for Nobunaga and Shizuku, if they are to meet the chain user, 5 of them will die. At the same time, Hisoka sends a message to Kurapika, telling him about the fake corpses. The prediction for Hisoka exposes his betrayal of the Phantom Troupe but he manages to use Texture Suprise to falsify the prediction and manipulate the group into staying in Yorknew City, just to be able to fight Chrollo. In the evening, Killua and Gon are captured again by the Troupe while Chrollo is taken hostage by Kurapika. After both parties have agreed on the conditions of the hostage exchange, Hisoka phones Illumi, hiring him to disguise as himself and act as his double in the Troupe's hideout so that he can leave and fight Chrollo alone. After arriving at the exchange site, he reveals to Chrollo his fake membership status and challenges him to a duel, but to his great disappointment, Chrollo can no longer use Nen. Thus, Hisoka spares his life and leaves, telling Pakunoda that he has never been attracted to broken toys.

Greed Island arcEdit

Hisoka appears again on Greed Island in search of an Exorcist for Kuroro. He uses Kuroro's name to enter the game, which catches Gon's and Killua's attention and they, together with Goreinu and Biscuit, use a spell card to get to him. Because their team does not have enough strong people for their upcoming dogdeball match against Razor, Biscuit invites him to join them, to which Hisoka agrees because he is having nothing to do. Killua suspects that Hisoka has met other members of the Phantom Troupe on the island and is hiding it from everyone so he asks to check the list of the people Hisoka has met. Hisoka agrees and tricks Killua by using Texture Surprise to alter the name list. During the dodgeball game, he is injured by Razor's powerful shots and throws but in the end their collective effort prevails and it is Hisoka who helps the team achieve an absolute victory by forcing Razor out of the court, at the cost of 10 broken fingers.

After that, he leaves to help some members of the Phantom Troupe negotiate with the Exorcist, Abengane. When they meet, even without using En he still notices that someone is hiding behind a tree and threatens to kills that person if they do not show up, which frustrates Nobunaga. Kalluto, Hisoka's replacement in the gang, walks out and asks if his Zetsu was imperfect, to which Machi replies that it was well done but Hisoka is just a beast. Hisoka sizes up Kalluto and praises him for having a lot of potential. He then asks Machi what she will do if he kills Chrollo. Machi says she would hunt him down and kill him. As usual, Hisoka replies in a playful and flirtatious manner that he likes it. He is later seen meeting up with Abengane after the latter has successfully removed the Nen beast on his body.

New Hunter Chairman Election arcEdit

Hisoka reappears during the 1st round of the New Hunter Chairman election looking for Ging. He secretly rates the Hunters on the scene using a scale of his own and is apparently quite happy with the power of some Zodiac Twelvemembers: KanzaiGinta, and Piyon. He then casts a blank vote after showing it to them, which annoys Kanzai. After that he sits there scouting out the crowd. While sizing up the pro-Hunters present at the election site, Hisoka is disappointed by their power levels and thinks to himself that if they are this weak, he might consider fighting the Zodiacs next. Suddenly he feels the presence of someone strong, who turns out to be Illumi Zoldyck. Illumi then tells Hisoka about what happened during Chimera Ant crisis, the death of Chairman Netero, Alluka, and the current situation with Gon and Killua.

Hisoka and Illumi are next seen talking to each other in an airship bar. The latter explains the rules of Alluka's ability to him and tells him if Killua dies from Alluka's power while trying to heal Gon, a lot of people, including the Zoldycks, Gon, and even Hisoka, will die as well. Fearing that Killua will do it wrong, Illumi asks Hisoka to help him kill Alluka. Later, as Killua, Alluka and their servants are on the way to Gon's hospital, Illumi manipulates some drivers and crashes their vehicles into Killua's car, causing it to fall into a forest below. Watching from a distance, Illumi tells Hisoka to eliminate the servants but Hisoka asks if he can kill Killua. Illumi releases a murderous aura and warns him. Hisoka replies that he is just kidding but in fact he provoked Illumi on purpose to let Killua know his location because he too wants Gon to be saved.

He then confronts GotohAmane, and Canary, who are left behind after Killua uses his Kanmuru ability to escape with Alluka. Gotoh tells the other servants to go ahead and let him deal with Hisoka alone. At first, Hisoka's Bungee Gum ability seems to be neutralized by Gotoh's ability to use coins as bullets and put spin on them, but Hisoka manages to fire the coins back at Gotoh from various directions at once, forcing Gotoh to shoot more coins to deflect them. While he is distracted by the coins, Hisoka suddenly slits his throat with 2 cards.

CombatEdit

Hisoka is a deadly fighter notorious for his cruel and deceitful fighting style. His deviousness and volatility has made it difficult for his opponents to anticipate his next move, resulting in many victories for him. Using Shu enhanced cards as his primary weapon, he throws them with ease and deadly accuracy. When used in combination with his Nen abilities, the cards become an even deadlier weapon. He is strong physically, ranking 3rd in the Phantom Troupe in arm-wrestling, and quite fast, enough to easily dodge Gon's continuous attacks without moving from his position during their match in the Heavens Arena. He also tends to mess with the opponent's psychological state, as seen during his fight with Kastro.

Hunter X Hunter Ging Freecss Anime 2011 Manga HD

Ging Freecss (ジン=フリークス, Jin Furīkusu) is the father of Gon Freecss. He is a Double-Star Ruins Hunter[2] (though he can apply for a Triple-Star License),[3] and a former Zodiac[4] with the codename "Boar" (亥い, I).[5] Finding Ging was Gon's motivation for becoming a Hunter.[6]

[show]

Appearance

Ging seems to be a short individual, being only a bit taller than his son. He shares Gon's hazel eyes. He has untrimmed facial hair and black spiky hair. During his introduction, Ging wears a turban-like cap on his head most of the time, with some hair locks protruding out from it. He also wears plain baggy white pants and a long sleeve shirt. On top of that, he has a slip-on-head cloth that looks like a tank top and stretches down to the waist, and hangs off the waist all the way down to the knees without covering the sides of his legs; he fastens that cloth with a black belt-like band around his waist. Ging dons a normal dark blue/grey scarf wrapped around his neck and long skinny black crew boots.

Personality

Ging instantly changes Wdwune's name to "Dwun", and even removed the e because he got confused

Ging has a shy and stubborn personality, to the point that he only wants Gon to meet him alone and claims that it would be cowardly of Gon to bring a friend to meet him, causing one of his friends to wonder if he is afraid of crowds. Judging by his actions at the New Hunter Chairman Election to ensure Netero's will be carried out, he seems to respect the late Chairman considerably. Ging is also rather volatile, yet extremely intelligent. In spite of his ability to make flawless plans years in advance, he occasionally acts without knowing why, surprising even himself.

According to his friends, Ging has a childlike enthusiasm, going on about a game he created. He is also somewhat dismissive, when he changed Dwun's name without the latter's consent, or when he refused to explain more details to Elena.[7] Still, his charm would draw more colleagues later in his life. Additionally, Ging admires people who rely on their own capabilities to achieve their goals, as his challenges to Gon and Kite prove, and who show passion in what they do: in fact, Ging is, above all, an enthusiastic Hunter. He is always after something, no matter how impossible it seems, but aside from the goal, it is the quest that he enjoys.

Due to his carefree and eccentric nature, most people often consider Ging to be a bad father to Gon. This might be due to his seemingly lack of care when Gon was dying and never visited him in the hospital. His indifference to his son's state caused the Hunters during the Chairman Election to shout and boo at him. Despite all this, Ging cares greatly for Gon in his own way: he sent Gon through onerous tasks to strengthen himself, rather than using parental guidance. However, at the same time, it is also implied that Ging cannot handle the responsibility as a hands-on father to his son.

Background

Younger Ging with Mito at Whale Island

Ging is the only grandson of Gon's great-grandmother. He and Mito are cousins. Ging left Whale Island to take the 267th Hunter Exam not long before turning 12. Right after his departure, Mito's parents and his father died consecutively.[1] He was the only participant to pass the 267th Hunter Exam.[2] Ging returned to Whale Island ten years afterward with a two-year-old Gon. He intended to leave Gon in the custody of his grandmother for a while, telling her that he and Gon's mother had separated.[1]However, he lost the custody of his son in court to his cousin Mito. After becoming a licensed Hunter, Ging devoted himself to the excavation and preservation of archaeological ruins. He used his own fortune to accomplish a perfect preservation and restoration of the ruins so that everyone can see them. His achievements in archaeology are now considered an exemplary model for working on ruins throughout the world.[8]

Ging talking to Razor

Ging has become very rich and is as powerful as a president of a country. He is currently a Double-Star Hunter and qualifies for a Triple-Star License, but because of his shyness and stubbornness, has not applied for one.[9] He has, however, remained a mysterious figure and information about him is classified even in the official Hunters database.[1] Ging is also the main creator of the Nen-based game Greed Island. Chairman Netero once told Biscuit that Ging was one of the five best Nenusers in the world.[10] After Netero's death, it is revealed that Ging is one of the twelve Hunters hand-picked by the former Chairman to be in charge of the election for a new Hunter chairman: the Zodiacs. They all were given code names based on the signs of the Chinese zodiac, with Ging being known as "the Boar".[11]

Plot

Yorknew City arc

Ging makes his first unofficial "appearance" when Gon and Killua listen to a tape left by him. When played, Ging's voice greets Gon and congratulates him on becoming a Hunter but then asks if he wants to see him.[1] The tape specifies if Gon wants to see him, continue listening and if he doesn't, simply stop the tape. With Gon deciding to continue listening, the tape then inquires if he's prepared because Hunters are selfish people and abandon things to acquire things that they want and if Gon feels like, "he wants to see him if he can". Then he better stop listening to the tape right then and there. Still Gon continues to listen as Ging snickers and says he really must want to see him, but he doesn't want to see him. Or rather he doesn't know how to see him, since he gave up being a father to be what he really is, which he admits is quite selfish. And it'd be at least 10 years before he actually listens to this tape, but even during that time, there are things that will never change and he is what he is.[12]

Ging appears seated atop a magical beast and says "Bo", while the magical beast also says "Bo" and a giant winged magical beast, which the magical beast is seated upon says "Bo" and flies away. Ging's tape continues on saying that he's doing some crazy things, while Gon has been listening to the tape, so if he wants to see him come and find him, and restates that he doesn't want to see him and that he'll run if he knows he's close. So Ging challenges Gon to hunt and catch him, because he's now a Hunter as well. As Killua tries to stop the tape, Gon stops him, claiming there's more. Ging then says he almost forgot to ask him if he wants to know anything about his mother and if he wants to know then keep listening otherwise, but Gon stops the tape, content that Mito is his mother.[12]

13th Hunter Chairman Election arc

Ging as a candidate for Hunter Association Chairman

After Netero leaves a video of his last will, stating that he's resigning as chairman, and the new chairman will be determined by election, so that all members of the association should cast their votes. If voter participation does not exceed 95% the election is void, and another will be held. Netero gives the date of the election, but leaves the method of the election for the Zodiacs to decide.[13] Ging, as one of the Zodiacs, and out of respect for Netero, is called in to help decide the rules for the election of the new chairman. Saiyu jokes about how Ging actually showed up when he usually never shows up to these type of meetings and points "Rat" as a trash for being late. Vice-Chairman Pariston shows up late, which annoys most of the Zodiacs except Ging. Pariston puts himself up as a candidate for the position, and suggests not to have an election anymore, which angers the Zodiacs. Ginta threatens to kill Pariston because of his brash attitude, while Ging keeps his cool and analyzes the situation. Ging then announces his candidacy and states that he will continue Netero's legacy.[5]

The rest of the Zodiacs doubt the motive behind Ging's candidacy, stating that they want neither Pariston nor Ging for the position. Pariston then brings up Gon's near death condition in the discussion, stating he'll pay him a visit (and possibly a hint that he's going to harm Gon), which Ging counters by stating that Gon won't die easily and that he trusts that his son will survive the ordeal. Cheadle brings up the idea that the rules for the election should be decided by drawing lots, and everyone agreed. Each Zodiac then proceeds to write down their own rules in a piece of paper and have Beans pick a draw. The draw turns out to be Ging's rules. It is later revealed that two days prior to the Zodiacs' meeting, Ging conspired with Beans by giving him a set of rules for the Chairman Election. Based on each Zodiac's personality, he was able to deduce the outcome of the meeting beforehand.[5]

Having met all conditions said by Ging, Beans picked Ging's set of rules (unknown to the other Zodiacs):

  1. Every single Hunter is a candidate and a voter.
  2. If the candidate with the most votes hasn't achieved the majority of the votes, the candidates will be cut down to 16 participants. If the latter rule will not work the candidates for the position will be cut in half until there's a winner.
  3. If the voting rate is less than 95% the election should be re-processed.
  4. All voters must write their names on their vote. All nameless votes will be considered null and void.
  5. Ging will be the chairman of the election committee. (This rule is a bluff so the others will accept his first four rules.)

The fifth rule is changed as suggested by Pariston, to which Ging complies with and aggravates the other Zodiacs.[5]

Leorio hits Ging with his Remote Punch

Ging gets 15th place in the First Election for the 13th Hunter Chairman and with voting rate only at 87.7%, the conditions were not met, so a re-election had to be held.[5] The conditions were also not met for the Second Election for the 13th Hunter Chairman[14] and Third Election for the 13th Hunter Chairman and it is unknown what place Ging ranked in those elections.[15] At a conference, the Zodiacs talked to the public about voting for the new Chairman. When they open up to questions, Leorio asks him why he hasn't gone to see Gon when everyone else has. They get into an argument that ends when Leorio punches the table he was standing on, breaking it and causing a black portal to appear. Another black portal appears under Ging with a fist popping out that punches him in the face. This allows the Fourth Election for the 13th Hunter Chairman to finally fulfill the 3rd rule and in it Ging lands in 16th place.[16] Ging is however eliminated in the Fifth Election for the 13th Hunter Chairman where he landed in 13th place. When interviewed to give a "Loser Speech", he uses a stuffed panda in his place.[17]

Ging next appears in conversation with Cheadle, explaining how to defeat Pariston. He tells Cheadle that Pariston isn't interested in winning or losing and that the election is only a game to him. When Cheadle asks Ging what will happen if things continue as they are, Ging answers by saying that after the Eighth Election only she and Pariston will remain, but in the next one on one election Pariston will lower the voting percentage by exerting his influence on Temp Hunters to get them to abstain from voting. Ging says that Pariston will play around until "X Day".[18]

Ging then proclaims that out of the four remaining candidates left, the one who carries on Netero's will is Pariston. This angers Cheadle who says she only wants him to tell her when "X Day" will be. Ging starts by saying that the day Netero blew himself up, 100 large Hunter Association airships headed into the Republic of East Gorteau and that this wasn't recorded by the books. The airships picked up around 5,000 hybrid cocoons that the Chimera Ants had left around and that every single one of them can use Nen and that they've all probably hatched by now. He says that Pariston wants to play with them and deduces that X Day is the day of the New Hunter Exam, but says the situation could change depending on how one interprets Hunter Bylaws.[18]

When the 8th Election is about to begin, Pyon asks the Hunters to stay until the 13th Chairman Election is decided and is shown as the Zodiacs have blocked all the entrances, Ging and Pariston make eye contact and Ging says to himself "This is Bad".[18] After Gon was healed, he and the other Hunters entered the election hall, resulting in Ging being finally found by Gon.[19] Gon apologizes, still feeling responsible for what happened to Kite. Ging tells him that it wasn't his fault and that Kite was still alive, because of his Crazy Slots ability, which Ging himself taught him. He suggested that Gon should go see Kite again, after being shouted at by the other Hunters. He picks a fight with the Hunters in the election hall, after promising Gon that they can talk later. Ging is left dumbfound after the Ninth Election for the 13th Hunter Chairman, when Pariston resigns as Chairman and makes Cheadle the Chairman.[20]

Ging receives his Hunter License from Gon

Later, Gon and Ging meet at the World Tree. There, Ging talks about why he wanted to be a Hunter. He reveals that there is much more to the world than most people don't know and that is the Dark Continent. He tells Gon that the Chimera Ants also originated from there and that even Ging isn't qualified to go there yet.[21] Gon returns his Double-Star Hunter License to him and they talk about their adventures with each other.[22]

Dark Continent Expedition arc

Cheadle announces to the Zodiacs that Ging and Pariston both resigned from the group. Ging is next seen near Beyond Netero's palace, appearing to be interested in his plans to visit the Dark Continent.[4] Ging later appears in front of Beyond's expedition team, in which Pariston is a member.[23]He dismisses Pariston's assumption that he will join, claiming that he is there to stop them, thinking that the Hunter Association has become too boring for Pariston's tastes, so he is letting the Chimeras loose in the world to find new amusing targets, which would also change the Hunter Association's policy regarding the Dark Continent; alternatively, he'd send the Chimeras to attend the Hunter Exam, which they would pass easily, although Ging concedes he does not understand what Pariston would do with the Association after that. He concludes that both of them think in unorthodox ways, which is why he can understand his mental processes, and insults him. Seemingly affected, Pariston begins to explain his need to have others hate him and hurt the things he loves, asking if it is normal. Ging responds saying that, in his case, it is past normality. Pariston just watches as Ging is confronted by two members of the expedition party, speaking only when the latter asks aloud who is the number 2 of the group, pointing at himself. When Ging states physical strength was not part of the criteria, Pariston feels underestimated.[24]

Ging confronts Pariston

Ging says that if Pariston was just some muscle head, he'd just defeat him in a fight, but he knows that he needs to outsmart Pariston. When one of the expedition team members challenges Ging, Pariston interrupts and confirms that he is ranked number two in the team. Ging dismisses it and declares that he will be number two henceforth.[24] Ging declares that he is not planning on making any changes to the party's plans or giving orders: he just wants the nominal authority of the number two. He then states he will double the money Beyond has promised them and pay upfront. As the party members consider his offer, Pariston admits he is happy that Ging is number two. However, since Pariston is not being paid by Beyond, Ging does not give him any money. After a moment of tension, Pariston agrees. He listens in silence as Ging explains about the Five Great Calamities and the resources that can be found in the Dark Continent, as described in the book written by Don Freecss.[25]

While Ging is talking to Gon on the phone, the members of the party split in two groups: those who are willing to take his money, and those who refuse, with Pariston siding with the first faction. Ging tells them he is well aware that they are not just Temp Hunters, but Specialists who were hired by Beyond due to their abilities. As he goes on explaining that Pariston used to be Vice-Chairman of the Hunter Association to restrain Netero's authority while gaining power, Pariston is irritated by how similar their ways of thinking are, and wonders inwardly if he will really hate someone for the first time in his life, admitting he looks forward to it. He complies with Ging's request to inform everyone in the team about his presence.[26]

Ging teaches the team members how to make warts out of Nen

One month later, Ging is seen displaying his outstanding abilities in Ibokuri to the expedition party and beating Curly in a contest on Ancient Kappese. Pariston tells Ging that all the assassins they sent to hinder the Hunter Exam failed, apparently thanks to his replacement in the Zodiacs. One of the assassins, Muherr, reports that he can allegedly read minds. Pariston introduces him to Ging, but the two already know each other. Muherr would not be surprised if Kurapika had found out about their escape plan, but Pariston smiles and replies that there is no plan to free Beyond: he must escape all by himself once in the Dark Continent and then meet up with them. Muherr questions Ging's motives to join their team, suspecting he might double-cross them, and the Hunter says he is closer to Beyond because he wants to do anything he wants during the journey. Furthermore, Ging reveals that he intends to prevent Pariston from completing his destructive plans while supporting Beyond. The assassins refuse to accept his presence and demands that Ging and Pariston choose which of them will leave the team. However, Ging offers them a third alternative, and Pariston a fourth, commenting how irked he is that he is being disrupted on one of the few occasions he and Ging get along. Ging's alternative is that the assassins leave, Pariston's that they die.[27]

Muherr's henchmen materialize guns to attack them with Nen bullets and the both of them escape through an underground passage. Ging complains about them having a bad temper, to which Pariston mocked him for having a bad temper himself. Ging explains that image of him is the result of a sum of single incidents over the years and intimates the other to shut up, adding it was Pariston the first to provoke them. Pariston says he was just going in with the flow and wonders if they have to get rid of their assailants, since they do not seem to have any intention to give up. Ging agrees, but wants to do it "gently". As he analyzes their abilities, Pariston asks if it is okay for him to watch Ging fight, and he receives an affirmative answer as Ging prepares a technique. Pariston watches in amazement as Ging reproduces Leorio's remote punch to knock out three enemies. He asks for a confirmation, and Ging explains how he can copy someone's ability.[28]

Ging invites Pariston for a real match

After Ging defeats the remaining henchmen, he tells Pariston he was aware it had all been staged by him to discover Ging's abilities, and suggests that Pariston fights him himself if he wants to figure out what Ging's real abilities are. The two then head upstairs, with Pariston glaring at Ging. After that, Muherr confronts Ging and reveals to him that he didn't have anything against him becoming the number two in the team, but the fact that he tried to buy their trust with money was unforgivable. Ging then apologizes and offers to donate their money to the Norwell Fund. After that Muherr and his men acknowledge him as the number two, but not before making it clear that despite this, it will be Muherr that will give the orders to everyone on the battlefield and that his orders are absolute. Ging then agrees and hails while comically answering "Sir! Yes Sir!". Pariston then walks in, announcing he can now donate his money to all of Beyond's followers and claiming Ging is now officially number two. Pariston turns out his offer to keep leading the party, and Ging says he won't hold back in that case.[28]

Abilities & Powers

During his time as a Zodiac, Ging's authority in the Hunter Association was inferior only to those of the Chairman and the Vice-Chairman. Even after quitting the group, he still has access to all the benefits granted by his status as a Hunter; as a matter of fact, due to no information on Ging being available on the net, Kurapika assumed that he must have the power and wealth of a president.[2] With Beyond Netero behind bars, he is also the de facto leader of the expedition team.[28] His abilities are yet to be fully revealed, but being part of the Zodiacs, a Double-Star Hunter who can qualify for a Triple-Star License, having managed to beat and capture Razor, Ging is bound to be extremely proficient in Nen. Former Chairman Netero supported this theory by calling him one of the five best Nen users in the world,[10] and Hisoka is extremely interested in him.[11] A direct example of his strength is given when he fought most of the Hunter Association without so much as getting a scratch on his person (although it should be noted it was a comical scene and no one was trying to cause serious injuries).[20] He also repeatedly threatened Pariston, a fellow former Zodiac, showing many times he has extreme confidence in his own skills.[24] Aside from being famous for his power, Ging is known for the number of difficult missions he has completed for the Hunter Association as well as for his ability to disappear without leaving a trace, to the point that not even the Zodiacs can find him. He also seems to know how to use the mysterious runes that are affected by Nen, leaving Gon a box that could be opened only with his aura.[1] Together with other ten individuals, he was able to create Greed Island, a Nen-powered game encompassing a whole island.

Immense Speed: Ging grabbed by the waist, lifted up, and faked a punch at Usamen, who was approaching him with hostile intentions, before the other could react. The speed of his movement and the power behind it were such that Usamen actually believed, for a moment, that he had been struck several times.[24] A few days earlier, when Gon climbed up the World Tree, Ging commented on the time that took Gon to reach the top of the tree past the 500 meters point, and said that he got tired of waiting for him, thus showing that Ging is on a completely different level of speed, although it should be noted that this was Gon's first attempt to climb the World Tree and Ging told him it was "not bad for [Gon's] first time".[21]Furthermore, he was seen simultaneously avoiding a spray of gunfire fired at close range by three Nen users while casually engaging Pariston in conversation.[28]

Enhanced Adaptability: He talked and laughed on top of the World Tree for many hours without looking troubled by the low oxygen level and temperature.[21][22]

Genius-Level Intellect: Ging is arguably one of the most intelligent characters of the series. He has foreseen most of Gon's choices and actions since leaving home, including his participation in the Hunter Exam, his journey to Greed Island and his meeting with Kite. He also guessed correctly what the process to decide the rules of the election would be and ensured his own would win, outmaneuvering the rest of the Zodiacs.[11] His predictions regarding the election for the new chairman of the Hunter Association were accurate and even Cheadle, despite disliking him and being extremely smart herself, asked him for advice.[18] He manipulated Leorio, a person he knew nothing of, so that he could become a hindrance to Pariston's victory, which he did.[29] Furthermore, when Ging got rid of the Nen users from Muherr's party at the underground level and was going back up to the the castle, he pointed out to Pariston that if he wants to see his abilities he has to come at him rather than building up badly designed self-serving scenarios, showing his superiority as a battle analyst even in times of conflict.[28] It can be affirmed that Ging's preeminent mental skills are his deductive intelligence, quickness of mind and versatility. Ging is a polymath, since he has extensive knowledge in various fields of academic studies. However, he claims that he studies subjects that interest him only.[27]

Polyglot: Ging is hinted to be able to speak several languages, surpassing Curly, a professor at Varvard University, in his own field every time they have had a contest. Among the languages he knows is Ancient Kappese.[27]

Nen

Ging's standing within the Hunter Association and Netero's praise speak for his mastery over Nen. A first example of this is given when he is seen playing Ibokuri, a game in which one moves around their aura to do tricks: A self-proclaimed master of Ibokuri was left flabbergasted by Ging's capacities, as he created multiple bubbles of aura, altering their shapes, sizes, direction and individual speed. As Ging himself admitted, however, this game has nothing to do with one's actual abilities, being no different than spinning a pen on one's fingers.[27] Since creating shapes with one's aura is considered a Transmutation ability, Ging might be very skilled in this field. Although it is still unknown which Nen category he falls into, he showed extreme prowess in Emission and Manipulation when he put his aura in a tape with the order that it self-deletes after playing. The command activated perfectly ten years afterwards, and the aura was strong enough to block Killua's punch,[12] indicating he has considerable skills in Enhancement as well.

Ging's version of Leorio's remote punch

A true testament to Ging's skills in offensive Nen was given when he was attacked by Muherr's henchmen. On that occasion, he copied Leorio's remote punch perfectly and at the first attempt. He later explained he can mimic other people's techniques. Not all of the conditions are revealed, but one of them is that he must be struck by the attack at least once, if it is physical. However, he explained it is merely a natural talent, not a Nen ability. Deducing how Leorio must have created his ability, Ging devised, basing on his own speculations, a method to detect people which consists in spreading one's aura like ultrasounds, and again he succeeded in using it at the first attempt. Since he deemed this technique to be stealthier than En, it is very likely he can also use En. He also showcased above-average proficiency in the Emission category by hurling two large projectiles of Nen at the same seemingly without needing to charge them.[28]

One Piece Luffy vs Rob Lucci Manga Enies Lobby Col

One Piece (Japanese: ワンピース HepburnWan Pīsu) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jumpmagazine since July 22, 1997, and has been collected in 87 tankōbon volumes. The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a boy whose body gained the properties of rubber after unintentionally eating a Devil Fruit. With his crew of pirates, named the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy explores the Grand Line in search of the world's ultimate treasure known as "One Piece" in order to become the next Pirate King.

The manga has been adapted into an original video animation (OVA) produced by Production I.G in 1998, and an anime series produced by Toei Animation, which began broadcasting in Japan in 1999. Additionally, Toei has developed thirteen animated feature films, one OVA and eleven television specials. Several companies have developed various types of merchandising such as a trading card game and numerous video games. The manga series was licensed for an English language release in North America and the United Kingdom by Viz Media and in Australia by Madman Entertainment. The anime series was licensed by 4Kids Entertainment for an English-language release in North America in 2004, before the license was dropped and subsequently acquired by Funimation in 2007.

One Piece has received praise for its storytelling, art, characterization, and humor. Several volumes of the manga have broken publishing records, including the highest initial print run of any book in Japan. The official website for Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga announced that the manga has set a Guinness World Record for "the most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author". As of October 2017, the manga has sold over 430 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling manga series in history and As of December 2017, It is the best selling manga for 10 consecutive years.[2]

Sabo is the Revolutionary Army's chief of staff, recognized as the "No. 2" of the entire organization, ranking directly under Monkey D. Dragon himself.[2]

Next to being the sworn brother of Monkey D. Luffy and Portgas D. Ace, he is of noble descent, the son of Outlook III, as well as via his parents the adopted brother of Stelly, the current king of the Goa Kingdom, whom Sabo has never recognized as such.

At a very young age, Sabo ran away from his noble parents in the Goa Kingdom to live alone in the kingdom's Gray Terminal, and he met and befriended Ace not long after. Five years later (12 before the present storyline), the two became friends with Luffy as well, and the three came to consider themselves "brothers", swearing an oath of brotherhood over sake. They also shared the dream to set out to sea as pirates and achieve freedom, Sabo initially planning to do so at age 17.

However, after having escaped his parents once more not long after they had caught him and taken him away from his adoptive brothers, Sabo had then already set sail on his own, but his boat was destroyed by a Celestial Dragonmoments later.[7]

Having been believed to have died during this incident, Sabo had in truth survived due to Dragon saving him, and he thus joined the Revolutionaries.[8] He had lost most of his memories from that point forward but regained them upon learning of Ace's death at Marineford.[9] He currently has a bounty of 602,000,000.[6]

AppearanceEdit

Sabo was a ten year old boy at the time of Luffy's flashback, the same age as Ace at that time. He had round eyes, a missing tooth, and short curly blond hair. He wore a large black top hat with a pair of blue goggles wrapped around it, a blue jacket with the sleeves rolled up, a cravat and a pair of light blue cyan shorts held up by a belt with an elaborate flower-design buckle.

Before he entered into the Gray Terminal, he was seen with a gentle outfit with a white colored short-sleeved shirt and wearing blue colored shorts as usual.

As an adult, Sabo became taller and more muscular. He has matured greatly, with more pronounced facial symmetry and a scar he acquired over his left eye.[10] This scar was inflicted when Saint Jalmack selfishly blew up the fishing boat Sabo used to set out to sea, leaving him with serious burns and critical injuries. He resembles Luffy enough to allow him to easily deceive opponents as perceptive as Diamante into thinking he was "Lucy" by simply wearing the same outfit, although Sabo is still taller than his younger brother. His hair has also grown noticeably longer since his youth, which he styled deliberately to cover up his eye scar.[11]

While participating in the final round at the Corrida Colosseum in Luffy's place, he wore Luffy's cape, fake beard, and viking style helmet. In addition, he wore shades to conceal his eyes. He also drew an X-shaped mark on his chest.

Later, after the round, he returned to his original outfit, which resembles his old outfit from twelve years ago: a long black jacket with a buckle on the left sleeve, with a blue shirt and vest, a frilled cravat, and a simple belt holding a pair of loosen light-blue pants with black boots (said boots are shown in greater detail in Pirate Warriors 3, to be wrapped with buckles and with cloth bracings). He also wears a pair of brown gloves and the same top hat with goggles over the band.
